Direct Access Physical Therapy
Physical therapy treatment without a referral
If you have pain or an injury that isn’t improving, our team at Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation – Outpatient Therapy can get you on the road to recovery. In Texas, patients may be evaluated and treated by a licensed physical therapist without a physician’s prescription.* It’s called direct access and it empowers you to be your own health care advocate. This means you can start treatment more quickly to restore strength, regain skills, reduce pain and get back to what you love.
If we feel an injury or issue needs further attention, we will refer you to your physician or appropriate specialist. We will also communicate with your physician as directed.
We know saving time and money is important to you. Choosing physical therapy first can help you get back to life and the things you love.
